How to Print Photo Strips using Touchpix with Printpix

Photo strips are a popular output format for photo booth events, and Touchpix in combination with Printpix allows you to print these efficiently. Whether you’re aiming for 2x6 strips, 4x6 prints, or vertical photo booth strips, this guide will walk you through the process.

Basic Printer Setup and Requirements

Before proceeding, ensure:

  • You are using a printer compatible with 2x6 and 4x6 paper formats.

  • The printer supports split/cut features if you’re opting for those layouts.

  • You have the Touchpix app installed on your iPhone or iPad, and it is paired with your printer.

Printing 2x6 Photo Strips

To print photo strips in the 2x6 format:

  1. Select the Correct Paper Size: - Navigate to the paper size options in the printer settings. - Select the '2x6' paper size, or '6x4 split' (a 4x6 sheet cut into two 2x6 strips); both work, depending on whether your Designer template is 2x6 or 4x6. This ensures the photos are formatted and cut correctly by compatible printers.

Printing 4x6 Prints

To print 4x6 photos via Printpix on your iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open the Touchpix app.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Print & Sharing > Printing > Printpix.

  3. Under "Available Paper Sizes," choose the 4x6 size. Make sure you have the correct type of paper and your printer supports this format

Printing Vertical Photo Booth Strips

For vertical photo booth strips:

  1. Choose the Right Template in Designer: - In the Touchpix app, select a strip template with a 4×6 orientation. A vertical strip layout template ensures correct formatting.

  2. Set Paper and Printer Options: - Enable Automatic paper selection within printing settings and choose 4×6 (or 6×4). - Activate the split/cut option for a 2×6 strip output from a single 4×6 print (this is usually conducted via options such as 6×4 Split in settings).

  3. Print the Vertical Strip: - This setup will ensure that the printer outputs your 4×6 layout in a vertical strip format.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Incorrect Cuts or Formatting: Verify that you’ve selected the correct paper size compatible with your printer and the desired strip format.

  • App Settings: Double-check settings within Touchpix to confirm correct printer options are enabled.

  • Printer Compatibility: Ensure your printer supports 2x6 or cut options for seamless operation.
